Mara Campbell was born into an English-speaking family in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and was educated in the best bilingual schools. She attended college, earning an Advertising degree in 1996.

After working for companies such as FedEx, Warner Bros Licensing, and in theatrical film distribution, she was hired by one of the biggest dubbing studios in Buenos Aires, Palmera Record. There she translated and adapted scripts for dubbing, CC’ed dozens of shows for US broadcast TV, QC’ed other people’s work, and trained a whole team of closed captioners.

As a freelancer, she subtitled uncountable minutes of content that have been seen on the screens of Netflix, Prime, Disney+, Hulu, HBO, BBC, and many more.

In 2004, one of Burbank’s biggest post-production companies set up a branch in Buenos Aires and hired her to be team leader and trained her extensively in subtitling, closed captioning, and SDH.

A year and a half later, she founded True Subtitles. She is currently in charge of daily operations and overseeing project management and quality, as well as helming the UK office.

In 2016, she earned her certification as an English-Spanish translator by the American Translators Association (ATA), of which she is a voting member. At the end of 2018, together with three colleagues, she founded the Audiovisual Division of the ATA, where she currently holds the position of Assistant Administrator and Webmaster.

She is an international speaker and writer in subjects related to audiovisual translation, Latin American Neutral Spanish, operation of subtitling/captioning software, and speech recognition software applied to subtitling. She currently resides in Reading, England.

Analía Pastorino was born in Buenos Aires.

She earned a degree in Business Administration in 1999, an MA in Capital Markets by UCEMA in 2006, and an MA in Business Management by UTDT in 2007.

Before joining True Subtitles, she worked for almost 18 years in one of Argentina’s most important private banks, starting in the Marketing department and making her way up to the Capital Markets department in a role as an associate for Debt Capital Markets and Investment Banking.

She managed to successfully combine her love for finances and movies with her entrepreneurial inclinations when she partnered with Mara Campbell with the aim of transforming the work of a single freelancer into a proper company with clients and suppliers all around the world.

She is currently the Chief Financial Officer of the company and handles the commercial strategy.
